  • What is the approximate number of patients the doctor has treated?
  • What percentage of patients undergo liposuction without additional IV sedation or narcotics?
  • Have any patients experienced serious complications resulting from the liposuction procedure?
  • How many patients require surgical corrections after the initial procedure?
  • Have any patients required hospitalization after the liposuction procedure?
  • Does the doctor’s malpractice insurance cover liposuction?
  • Are there any pending / previous liposuction malpractice lawsuits?
  • Has the doctor provided all information about the nature and associated risks or complications of the liposuction procedure?
  • Have you been provided with an informed consent form that explains the risks?
  • Have you been advised of the risk of tumescent liposuction and receiving a significant amount of intravenous fluids?
  • Have you been advised of the risks of undergoing liposuction in conjunction with other, unrelated surgeries?
  • Does the doctor have a policy (written) regarding fees for surgical corrections or touch-ups?
  • Will there be an anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist monitoring the patient?
  • Will there be a registered nurse present to assist the physician in the surgical suite, as well as to take care of the patient after the procedure?
  • Are all operating room and recovery staff properly trained, educated, and certified?
  • Does the facility have a fully equipped crash cart?
