We are all familiar with the name “crow’s feet,” the term used to describe those little wrinkles on the side of the eyes. The more positive among us often call them “laugh lines.” These crow’s feet wrinkles appear as the skin loses hyaluronic acid and collagen, and no matter what you call them, most of us find them unattractive.
About 80 percent of natural hyaluronic acid is lost between the ages of 40 and 80. Additionally, the loss of collagen and elastin also makes people look older. Also, the first place we lose plumpness and fat in the face is in the eye area. In combination with the lines caused by laughing, smiling, or squinting from the sun, the wrinkles will deepen as we grow older.
Solutions for Crow’s Feet
There are several different treatments available for eliminating the appearance of crow’s feet wrinkles. You can use over the counter eye creams containing retinol, which can reduce the appearance of those pesky lines. There are also prescription-strength solutions for crow’s feet containing retinoids that are available from your physician. Other medical options include Botox, Dysport or Xeomin, which will essentially relax the muscles to reduce the wrinkles. Chemical peels and microdermabrasion can also reduce the lines and wrinkles, as well as provide an overall better appearance to your face.
Natural Remedies
There are several natural solutions for crow’s feet that can reduce crow’s feet. Exfoliate your skin on a regular basis, using an exfoliant that contains glycolic acid, which are considered more effective. Facial masks created with milk, papaya, or egg whites have also been proven to be effective in tightening the eye area where those lines appear.

As we stated, crow’s feet do appear as we age; however, we can delay or prevent their appearance. Here are a few tips:
