We saw a huge increase in requests for lip injections when then 17-year old Kylie Jenner admitted to undergoing lip injections to obtain her now famous pout. Of course, there’s been an enormous increase in requests and inquiries about butt augmentation to achieve the look of sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian. An annual survey, conducted by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, indicated that members of this association saw a 64% increase in procedures and treatments for patients under the age of 30.

This celebrity influence on cosmetic surgery is not a recent occurrence. It has been found that patients of all ages are now considering cosmetic surgery to be far more acceptable, especially as more and more celebrities admit to having cosmetic procedures. Additionally, cosmetic procedures are being pushed into the spotlight through marketing, such as the prevalence of treatments and procedures being offered on television advertising. Also, treatments such as BOTOX are being offered in salons and spas.
